TransitMY is a transit tracking app for Malaysia. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Collect

Location Data

  • What: Your device's location coordinates
  • Why: To show nearby transit stops and calculate distances
  • Storage: Processed locally on your device only
  • Sharing: Never shared with any third party

Transit Preferences

  • What: Your favorite stops, alert settings, and app preferences
  • Why: To personalize your experience
  • Storage: Stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage
  • Sharing: Never shared with any third party

Transit Data

  • What: Schedule and real-time vehicle position data
  • Source: Fetched directly from data.gov.my (Malaysian government open data)
  • Storage: Cached locally on your device for performance
  • Sharing: We do not collect or transmit this data

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Account credentials (no login required)
  • Usage analytics or tracking data
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Contact information
  • Photos or media

Third-Party Services

Apple Services

  • App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases
  • Push Notifications: For arrival alerts (if enabled by you)
  • Apple's privacy practices: apple.com/privacy

Government Open Data

  • We fetch publicly available transit data from data.gov.my
  • No personal data is sent to this service

Prasarana/RapidKL Services

  • We fetch fare information and live bus positions from public APIs
  • Only transit-related data (station codes, route IDs) is sent
  • No personal information is transmitted

In-App Purchases

If you purchase TransitMY Premium:

  • Transactions are processed entirely by Apple
  • We do not receive or store your payment information
  • We only receive confirmation of purchase status

Data Security

  • All data is stored locally on your device
  • We use iOS secure storage mechanisms
  • No data is transmitted to our servers (we don't have any)

Your Rights

  • Delete all app data: Uninstall the app
  • Clear cached data: Settings → Clear Cache
  • Disable location: iOS Settings → TransitMY → Location
  • Disable notifications: iOS Settings → TransitMY → Notifications

Privacy-First Approach

  • No accounts or login required
  • No personal data collection
  • No analytics or tracking
  • All data stays on your device
